The ASI 502 100% RTV Silicone Caulk in translucent earth is a one-component, moisture cure, acetoxy silicone in a 10.2 oz. caulking cartridge that cures to a durable rubber.

Key Features

  • One-component acetoxy silicone, cured by atmospheric moisture, with no mixing and no hardener.
  • The cured rubber is published by American Sealants as able to withstand a variety of extreme environments.
  • 10.2 oz. caulking cartridge, which fits a standard cartridge caulking gun.
  • Trans earth is printed verbatim on the published ASI 502 color list and carries the swatch code TE on the manufacturer color chart.
  • A made-to-order color: American Sealants stocks only white, clear, gray, bronze, black, aluminum, almond and trans white.

Who Is This For?

Stone and tile installers matching warm brown and tan surfaces, where an opaque bead would show against the material. Suits sink and backsplash joints on travertine, sandy quartz and beige porcelain.

What This Is Not For

Paint will not adhere to a cured silicone bead. ASI 174 Siliconized Acrylic Latex Caulk is the paintable product in this range and is the right one where a painted wall or trim joint has to be finished over.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is trans earth a published American Sealants color?

Yes. Trans earth appears verbatim on the ASI 502 color list published by American Sealants, and carries the swatch code TE on the manufacturer color chart.

Does the cartridge need any mixing?

No. ASI 502 100% RTV Silicone is a one-component, moisture cure silicone. It cures on contact with humidity in the air, so nothing is added to it.

Is this a stock color?

No. The American Sealants stock color list for ASI 502 is white, clear, gray, bronze, black, aluminum, almond and trans white. Every other published color, including trans earth, is made to order.

How long does it take to cure?

American Sealants does not publish a tack-free or full-cure time for ASI 502 in the sources on file. Moisture-cure silicone cures from the surface inward, so deeper joints and dry air both slow it down.
