Spin Doctor Tile Lippage Control System – Clear, 100 per Box
The RTC Spin Doctor Anti-Friction Clear View Shield is a clear washer that sits between the leveling cap and the tile face, supplied 100 per box, and is an optional part of the Spin Doctor system.
It does two things at once. It takes the friction of the cap as it is spun down, so the cap tightens without binding or scuffing a polished or delicate tile surface; and being clear, it lets the installer watch the tile edge while tightening instead of working blind under the cap.
Key Features
- Clear anti-friction washer between the cap and the tile face
- Protects polished and delicate tile from scuffing as the cap turns
- Transparent, so the tile edge stays visible while the cap is tightened
- Optional accessory — the system works without it on unpolished tile
- 100 per box
What's Included
- 100 Anti-Friction Clear View Shields per box
Who Is This For?
Installers setting polished porcelain, glass or delicate glazed tile with the Spin Doctor system, where a cap turning directly on the face is a finish risk. On matte or textured floor tile it is genuinely optional.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does the Clear View Shield do?
It sits between the leveling cap and the tile face so the cap can spin down without binding or marring the surface, and because it is clear the installer can still see the tile edge while tightening.
Is it required to use the leveling system?
No — RTC markets it as an optional accessory. It earns its place on polished, glass and delicate glazed tile; on matte porcelain most crews go without.
What else do I need with it?
It works with the reusable red screw-down cap and a breakaway post sized to the grout joint. The shield replaces nothing in the system; it is added between the cap and the tile.
Will it change the joint width or the tile height?
It sits above the tile, under the cap, not in the joint or under the tile, so the joint width is still set by the post stem.
