- 10.3 oz. cartridge for a standard cartridge caulking gun.
Who Is This For?
Glaziers, curtain-wall and window installers, and stone and tile fabricators who need a joint that moves with the building and a cure that is low odor and non-corrosive. The Class 50 rating is what a specifier looks for on a working expansion or perimeter joint.
What This Is Not For
Silco publishes no paintable claim for either of its silicone lines, so a joint that must be painted over calls for the Silco Eco-Flex 9500 Hybrid Adhesive Sealant, which Silco does publish as paintable. Note also that Silco publishes mildew resistance for its acetoxy Sil-Bond RTV-3500 line and not for RTV-7500, so on a continuously wet shower or tub joint the acetoxy line carries the published mildew claim.
Frequently Asked Questions
What cure system does Sil-Flex RTV-7500 use?
Silco publishes Sil-Flex RTV-7500 as a one component, low modulus, neutral cure silicone sealant and adhesive, and its data sheet gives the cure system as neutral/oxime. It is not an acetoxy silicone.
How much joint movement will it take?
Silco publishes 50% movement capability for Sil-Flex RTV-7500, and the product meets ASTM C920 Type S, Grade NS, Class 50.
Is it safe on natural stone?
Silco publishes only that Sil-Flex RTV-7500 is non-corrosive. It publishes no non-staining claim and no natural-stone statement for the line, so a stone-safety claim cannot be made from the manufacturer's own data. Test on an offcut of the actual material first.
What size cartridge is it?
Sil-Flex RTV-7500 is sold in a 10.3 oz. cartridge, which loads into a standard cartridge caulking gun. That size comes from distributor listings; Silco publishes its packaging only as an image.
How long does it take to cure?
Silco publishes no tack-free or full-cure time for Sil-Flex RTV-7500 in the sources on file. Neutral-cure silicone cures on atmospheric moisture, so humidity, temperature and joint depth all affect it.
