The Superior Stone Products Pearl Stone Adhesive in EHC Knife Grade is a quart of Superior's 100% vinyl ester stone adhesive in the grade the manufacturer describes as a thicker paste with less shear.

Key Features

  • 100% vinyl ester chemistry - Superior builds the Pearl line on vinyl ester resin technology, not on polyester.
  • Cured with white paste hardener (BPO) at 1% to 3% by weight.
  • EHC Knife Grade is published by Superior as a thicker paste with less shear than its full knife grade.
  • Can be tinted with Superior Coloring Paste.
  • Quart container; Superior's own published container for the Pearl line is the 5 gallon pail.

Who Is This For?

Fabricators who want a vinyl ester rather than a polyester bond line and need the stiffest of Superior's Pearl grades - the one that holds a shape on a build-up or an overhang and resists slumping while it cures. A quart is a bench quantity for repair and small-run work.

What This Is Not For

The EHC grade is the thickest paste in the Pearl line, so it is the wrong choice where the adhesive has to flow into a rod slot or a tight crack on its own; Superior's V-MAX SV-1 is the flowing grade for that work. Pearl is also a fabrication adhesive rather than a setting adhesive, so bonding stone or tile to plywood, backer board, concrete or masonry calls for the Superior Stone Products E-1500-S Tile & Stone Setting Epoxy.

Superior Pearl is cured with white paste hardener (BPO) at 1% to 3% by weight.

What does EHC mean?

Which grades does Superior publish in the Pearl line?

Superior publishes three Pearl grades: Flowing, Full Knife Grade and EHC Knife Grade.

Can it be colored?

Superior Pearl adhesive can be tinted with Superior Coloring Paste.
