The APEXX Brazed Carving Bit Shape 5 is a 1/4 in. (6 mm) diameter straight-cylinder vacuum-brazed diamond bit on a 6 mm shank, made for detailed carving, grinding and cleanup in stone with a rotary tool or die grinder. Ocean Diamond publishes it for dry or wet use at a maximum of 4,500 RPM.
Shape 5 is the slimmest profile in the nine-shape APEXX carving set: a plain cylinder the same diameter as its shank, which suits narrow slots, lettering, undercuts and reaching into tight inside corners. It is a carving and detail tool, not a drill. To open a hole use a core bit such as the ELEMENT Dry/Wet Core Bit; to chamfer or round over an existing hole use the APEXX Vacuum Brazed Diamond Cone – 2 in., 60°, 5/8 in.-11.
