The ASI 502 100% RTV Silicone Caulk in translucent white is a one-component, moisture cure, acetoxy silicone in a 10.2 oz. caulking cartridge, and is the only translucent color on the American Sealants stock list.

Key Features

  • Trans white, color code TW, is the one translucent color on the published ASI 502 stock color list, alongside white, clear, gray, bronze, black, aluminum and almond.
  • Stock color, so it ships 24 cartridges per case rather than made to order.
  • One-component, moisture cure, acetoxy silicone that cures to a durable rubber with no mixing.
  • 10.2 oz. caulking cartridge for a standard cartridge caulking gun.
  • Translucent white reads as a soft milky tint over the substrate, not the flat opaque line an opaque white bead leaves.

Who Is This For?

Countertop and tile installers working light stone, white quartz and pale porcelain who want a joint that softens into the material. Because it is a stock color it is also the translucent to standardise on for shops that buy silicone by the case.

What This Is Not For

Translucent white is not opaque white. If the joint has to hide a dark substrate or a ragged edge, the opaque white in the same range covers better. And where the bead must be painted over, ASI 174 Siliconized Acrylic Latex Caulk is the paintable product in the American Sealants range.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is translucent white sold 24 per case when other translucent colors are not?

American Sealants stocks trans white, color code TW, on its ASI 502 stock color list, and stock colors are published at 24 cartridges per case. The other translucent colors are made to order and are not covered by that figure.

What is the difference between trans white and white?

Trans white is translucent and lets the substrate tone show through the bead. White is opaque and covers what is behind it. American Sealants publishes both as ASI 502 colors.

What cure system does it use?

ASI 502 100% RTV Silicone is a one-component, moisture cure, acetoxy silicone that cures to form an extremely durable rubber.

What gun does it fit?

The 10.2 oz. caulking cartridge American Sealants packages ASI 502 in loads into an ordinary cartridge caulking gun; no bulk or sausage gun is needed.
