The RTC Spin Doctor Lippage Control System 1/32 in. post is a red breakaway threaded tile leveling post, supplied 250 per box, that holds adjacent tiles flush while the mortar cures.

The post sits under two adjacent tiles with its threaded stem projecting up through the joint. A reusable cap spins down that thread until both tiles are clamped flat against one another, and once the mortar has cured the stem breaks off at the base and the cap is recovered for the next job. RTC color-codes the four sizes, and red is the 1/32 in. code.

Key Features

  • 1/32 in. (1 mm) joint width — the stem sets the joint as well as the level
  • Red is RTC's color code for the 1/32 in. size
  • Breakaway threaded post: the stem snaps off at the base once the mortar has cured
  • Screw-down system — the cap clamps by thread, with no pliers and no wedges
  • The narrowest joint RTC offers in this system, for rectified tile set tight

What's Included

  • 250 Spin Doctor breakaway posts, 1/32 in. (1 mm)
  • Caps and Clear View Shields are not included and are ordered separately

Who Is This For?

Tile setters and floor crews running 1/32 in. (1 mm) joints who need adjacent tiles held flush while the mortar sets. The joint width is fixed by the post, so the size must match the layout.

Frequently Asked Questions

What joint does the red post set?

The red post is RTC's 1/32 in. (1 mm) size — the tightest joint in the Spin Doctor range, used with rectified tile set to a minimal grout line.

Do I need caps as well as posts?

The system has exactly three parts: the disposable breakaway post, the reusable red screw-down cap (SDCAP, 100 per box) and the optional Anti-Friction Clear View Shield (SDCVS). The posts and caps are bought separately, so a first order needs both.

Is this a base or a post?

RTC's own item table calls all four sizes breakaway posts. The word 'base' appears loosely in RTC's kit description, but there is no separate base component: the system is post, cap and optional Clear View Shield.

What if my grout joint is wider than 1/32 in.?

Move up a size — the stem width is the joint width. RTC offers 1/16 in. white, 1/8 in. black and 3/16 in. gray posts for wider layouts.
