The Omni Cubed No-Spin Edger is a 4 in. rigid aluminum polishing backer with a 5/8-11 standard female thread and a free-floating top disk that does not spin with the pad. The disk and its rubber bumper ride against the adjoining vertical surface, so the polishing pad can be run right into a corner without the backer burnishing the wall or the return.

Its actual outside diameter is 4.15 in. and it is 0.75 in. thick. The thread is the thing to check before ordering: this part is the 5/8-11 standard version, and a metric M14 x 2.0 version of the same tool exists under a separate part number for machines with an M14 spindle.

Key Features

  • 5/8-11 standard female thread - fits any polisher or grinder with a 5/8-11 spindle
  • Rigid aluminum body with a bearing disk and rubber bumper
  • Free-floating top disk stays still while the polishing pad turns beneath it
  • 4.15 in. actual outside diameter, 0.75 in. thick
  • Replaces a conventional backer pad rather than being fitted over one
  • Also made in 5 in. and 7 in. sizes

What's Included

  • One 4 in. No-Spin Edger backer

Who Is This For?

Fabricators and installers polishing edges, corners and cut patterns where a vertical surface sits right next to the work - splash returns, cabinet ends, apron and waterfall inside corners. Shops doing flat-field polishing away from any vertical will not need it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What thread does this No-Spin Edger use?

This version of the Omni Cubed No-Spin Edger has a 5/8-11 standard female thread. A separate M14 x 2.0 metric version is made for machines with an M14 spindle, so check the spindle on your polisher before ordering.

What machine does it mount on?

It threads onto any polisher or grinder with a 5/8-11 spindle - for example the Diamax Hurricane Pneumatic Air Polisher, which has a 5/8-11 spindle.

How does the non-spinning disk work?

The top disk floats on a bearing so it stays still while the polishing pad turns underneath it, letting the disk and its bumper act as a roller guide against the surface next to the work.

Do I still need a normal backer pad?

No - this replaces the backer pad rather than sitting on top of one. For ordinary flat polishing where there is no vertical surface to protect, a plain rigid backer such as the BRUIN Backer Pad in 4 in. rigid is the cheaper choice.

What is its actual diameter?

The 4 in. model measures 4.15 in. across and is 0.75 in. thick.
