The Alpha Sandpaper Disc is a 4 in. silicon carbide sanding disc in 120 grit with a hook-and-loop backing, for marble and softer natural stone. It is supplied 50 per box.
Silicon carbide is a soft-stone abrasive. On granite or quartz it dulls almost immediately and burnishes the surface instead of cutting it — Alpha lists this line for marble and softer natural stone. For granite and quartz use a diamond disc such as the Alpha Ceramica Resin Wet Polishing Disc, or the SIERRA Resin-Filled Diamond Cup Wheel for grinding.
