APEXX Red Incremental Bit – 20 mm, for Ultra-Compact & Porcelain
The APEXX Red Incremental Bit is a 20 mm diameter incremental cutting tip with a 23 mm diamond height and a regular M12 thread, built for ultra-compact and porcelain. Ocean Diamond specifies wet use only. On the incremental cutting tips the color codes the material the tip is bonded for.
Red is the ultra-compact tip, not the quartzite tip. Ocean Diamond builds a separate WHITE incremental tip for quartzite, under a different item number and a different bond — Obsidian Industrial does not currently stock it, so do not substitute a red tip for quartzite work. Do not read this color key against the APEXX CNC finger bits, where blue is an extra-soft bond for quartzite, or against the MONSTER wheels, where blue is the extra-soft MONSTER.
Key Features
- 20 mm diameter
- 23 mm diamond height
- M12 thread
- Wet use only
- Ocean Diamond materials: ultra-compact surfaces and porcelain
- APEXX Red — the color codes the material on this family
- Thread direction and color are independent: Ocean Diamond builds white and red tips in reverse thread as well
Who Is This For?
Fabricators cutting sink openings incrementally on a CNC or a radial-arm machine, where the tip has to be matched to the material rather than to the machine.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which material is this tip for?
Ocean Diamond publishes this item number for ultra-compact and porcelain.
Is it for quartzite?
No. Quartzite is the white tip, a different item number and a different bond. This is the red tip.
What does the color mean on incremental tips?
Ocean Diamond's color key for incremental cutting tips is: blue for engineered stone and granite, orange for engineered stone and granite with slots, green for engineered stone and granite on a reverse thread, white for quartzite, red for ultra-compact (and porcelain on the regular-thread tip), and purple for multi-stone. Thread direction and color are independent — white and red are both built in reverse thread too.
What thread does it take?
M12. Thread direction is independent of color — the same color is built in both directions on some tips.
Does it need water?
Yes. Ocean Diamond specifies wet use only.
What size is the tip?
20 mm diameter with a 23 mm diamond height.
