The APEXX Brazed Sink Wheel is a 1 x 2 in. brazed diamond wheel used to cut and true sink openings on an angle grinder, in #140 Fine grit with a 5/8 in.-11 thread. Ocean Diamond specifies dry or wet use with water recommended when possible, and builds this line in a No-Bearing and a Top-Bearing form — this is the No-Bearing version. The grit scale on the brazed sink wheels runs #30 coarse, #70 medium and #140 fine.

Do not read the grit numbers against the APEXX Brazed CNC Sink Drums, which run a different scale entirely — #50 coarse, #100 medium, #200 fine — on a 1/2 in. Gas thread with a center water feed, wet use only. The two families are not interchangeable and their grit numbers do not line up.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size is this sink wheel?

1 x 2 in., in #140 Fine grit.

What thread does it take?

The sink wheel takes a 5/8 in.-11 thread, on an angle grinder.

What is the grit scale on this family?

Ocean Diamond runs the brazed sink wheels at #30 coarse, #70 medium and #140 fine. The CNC sink drums use a different scale — #50, #100 and #200 — so the numbers do not compare across the two families.

What is the difference between No-Bearing and Top-Bearing?

Ocean Diamond builds both. A top bearing rides the underside of the slab and holds the wheel at a set depth; a no-bearing wheel is guided by hand. This is the No-Bearing version.

Does it need water?

Ocean Diamond specifies dry or wet use and recommends water when possible.
