The 3M Versaflo TR-600 PAPR Kit is a complete, ready-to-wear powered air purifying respirator assembled by Obsidian Industrial from 3M Versaflo components: an M-405 respiratory helmet with hard hat protection, a TR-617N blower assembly with high-capacity battery, belt and breathing tube, a single-station charger, two organic vapor/HE cartridges, a filter cover and five prefilters.
A PAPR replaces the tight-fitting half mask for all-day silica work: the blower pushes filtered air into the helmet, so there is no breathing resistance, no fit test for beards is defeated, and the visor and hard hat take care of eye and head protection at the same time. Everything in the kit is a standard 3M part, so replacement cartridges, prefilters, visors and shrouds are stocked here individually.

What This Kit Is Not For
Not for atmospheres immediately dangerous to life or health or oxygen-deficient spaces (a PAPR filters ambient air, it does not supply it). The M-405 helmet's hard hat rating is Type 1 Class G only, not a substitute for a full hard hat where Class E or Type 2 protection is specified, and the standard M-445 shroud is not the welding, chemical-splash or heavy-duty shroud. Grinding dust alone does not need the OV/HE cartridges; a TR-6710N HE particulate filter is the lower-cost consumable for particulate-only work.

Is this a 3M product?
Every component is a genuine 3M Versaflo part, listed above with its 3M number. Obsidian Industrial assembles them into one ready-to-use kit and stocks each part separately for replacement.
Does the operator need a fit test?
No. The M-405 is a loose-fitting headtop, so OSHA does not require a fit test and beards are acceptable. A written respiratory protection program and training are still required.
How long does the battery run?
3M's TR-630 high-capacity battery is rated by 3M for a full shift depending on filter loading and flow setting; the TR-641N charger recharges it in under 4 hours. Check the TR-600 user instructions for run time at your flow setting.
Can I use it for dust only?
Yes. The included TR-6510N cartridges handle particulates and organic vapors. For particulate-only work you can fit a TR-6710N HE filter instead, which costs less per change (not currently stocked here).
What consumables will I need?
TR-6600 prefilters (change when loaded), TR-6510N cartridges on your change-out schedule, M-925 visor and M-445 shroud when scratched or worn, and eventually a TR-630 or TR-632 battery. All are stocked individually.
