The 3M Particulate Respirator 8210, N95 is a disposable, cup-style, non-valved filtering facepiece that is NIOSH-approved to filter at least 95% of non-oil-based airborne particles, sold as a box of 20.

It is the everyday dust mask for dry sweeping, sanding and grinding where silica dust is the hazard, and for cutting dry stone or tile with an engineered-control setup. It does not protect against gases, vapors or oil aerosols, and it is not a substitute for a fit-tested half facepiece such as the 3M Half Facepiece Reusable Respirator 7503 fitted with P100 filters.

Key Features

  • NIOSH-approved N95 filtering facepiece: at least 95% filtration efficiency against non-oil particulates
  • Cup style with an adjustable aluminum nose clip and polyester nose foam for a snug seal
  • Two welded thermoplastic-elastomer head straps; no exhalation valve
  • Collapse-resistant inner shell keeps the cup open in humid work
  • Assigned protection factor 10 (concentrations up to 10 times the exposure limit) when properly fitted
  • Disposable: discard when breathing becomes difficult, the mask is damaged or soiled, or at the end of the shift
  • 20 respirators per box (3M UPC 051138-46457); 8 boxes per case

What This Respirator Is Not For

Not for gases, vapors, solvent fumes or oil-based mists (N-series filters are not oil resistant), and not for anyone with facial hair that breaks the face seal. For silica-heavy grinding or extended wear, step up to a reusable half facepiece with P100 filters: the 3M Half Facepiece Reusable Respirator 7503 (Large) or 7502 (Medium) with 3M Particulate Filter 2091, P100.

Who Is This For?

Installers, helpers and shop staff who need a light, disposable N95 for dust from dry cutting, grinding, sweeping and demolition, and shops keeping a box on hand for visitors and short tasks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the 8210 an N95 mask?

Yes. It is NIOSH-approved as an N95 filtering facepiece respirator, meaning it filters at least 95% of airborne particles and is not resistant to oil.

Does it have an exhalation valve?

No. The 8210 is the non-valved model. The valved version is the 3M 8511.

How many come in a box?

20 respirators per box. This listing is one box.

Does it protect against silica dust from cutting stone?

It filters respirable crystalline silica particles at N95 efficiency, but OSHA's silica standard and your written respirator program decide whether an N95 is enough for the task. Wet cutting and dust collection come first; for heavier or longer exposures use a half facepiece with P100 filters.

Can it be worn more than once?

3M sells it as a disposable. Replace it when it is damaged, soiled or hard to breathe through, and follow your employer's reuse policy.
